| Today, an American general said to the media that Iran has stopped sending bombs and weapons across the border into Iraq. This month, the roadside bomb incidents are much reduced over previous months. Since the Iraq project is near and dear to Bush`s heart, I suspect that he will respond to Irans gesture with some placating gesture of his own. These "sanctions" are strictly for show. The Americans can be successful in Iraq with Irans cooperation or they can fail in Iraq without Irans cooperation. The choice is obvious for Bush, the American leadership and military, and the American public. |
