| Hamas has made some mistakes, big mistakes. It has been, as the firesign theater once put it, playing `leadership like a violin, and power like a drum." Hamas survived the coup attempt last summer but it has had a hard time coping with it`s success. Israel will probably save it from itself by an attack just before or soon after Annapolis. But that cannot change the fact that the `reform` party has reformed itself into something more like Fatah than was wise. Abbas is making very accommodating sounds, and Hamas is talking to him. Will there be a reconciliation of cripples? |
