Not dangerous, indeed. And they were on Gaza territory. The normal method to deal with illegally border crossings is: wait and arrest. Killing kids is the worst a soldier can do, particularly regarding his own conscience (supposing he has one active).
According the IDF spokesman the two were "planting explosives" near the fence when they were shot. If that were true, no (intact) bodies would have been found. IDF did not provide further details on the incident, nor identify the killed Palestinians or whether or not they were carrying any weapons. Parole: if it moves, shoot. |
