Germany paid billions, that are now probably worth trillions in today`s money. Israel, the Netherlands and all those other countries took the money gladly, but instead of giving it to those people it belonged to (ie the Holocaust survivors) they spent it on everything else but them. That is not Germany`s fault.
If Germany should only pay more if Israel/the Netherlands can prove that the money they got so far was actually spent on the survivors - but lets be serious, looking at the lavish life style of the settlers and the poor money for the survivors we all know where the money went to in the case of Israel. For the Netherlands it is a different story, there might be more money to be paid by Germany. |
