This is the second time in as many weeks that I have felt compelled to write toyou over your utter ignorance of geopoloitics. When you write that Pakistan`s possession of nuclear weapons has calmed ths situation you seem to be totally oblivious of the reality. In the Kargil Border war of 1999 (3 years after Pakistan proved N-capability) they started a deliberate infiltration of Indian soil and contested areas using militants supported by Pakistan army regular forces (though denied they still awarded regiments with valour awards following) and only when Indian troops won back the territory, killed the militants and massed 1m men and armor on the border for retaliation did Pakistan calm down. Just 3 years after getting the bomb the army commander, to the ignorance of the Prime Minister and Pakistan government launched a terrorist war against India. That General was called Pervez Musharref. |
