IT looks like Netanyahu was on to something when he reduced the handouts to families with more and more children. The ultra-orthodox dont care about the extra money. Its a Mitzvah to have as many children as you can. I hope all Jews remember that. I have 3 so far and hope for a 4th. You should have as many children as you can afford to love.
Based on current trends, I believe the statistics said the arab fertility rate should match the Jewish one in the next 10-15 years and the Jewish fertility rate will actually accelerate from there. Arafat was right about the battle in the womb, and it will be won by the religious Jews. Personally, I am just happy to see more Jews born in the world. It is a blessing. I suspect Israel can afford to grow to at least 15-20 million people as long as water and energy resources are addressed. I dream of living to be old enough to see 20 million Jews in Israel and 100 million worldwide. It will happen eventually as the orthodox pop. grows. |
