| My sister Francine lives in Jerusalem and has a 16 year old special ed son. He has encountered the same resistence that Aviv is now facing, but for his entire life. It has been his mother`s life work to fight Israeli ignorance and bureaucracy on behalf of special ed. kids. In the process, she has successfully educated the so-called educated about the nature of his disability and has kept him out of the mental institutions which the so called experts perscribed. Today Itai is a normal functioning lad who functions well in his special ed class at a normal high school. |
