I will mention 3 options :
1. Continuing with the present policy of airforce and short ground incursions, and applying collective punishment, which may cause outrage around the world.
2. Invading Gaza in force, going house to house to root out the terror groups. It was done in the West Bank (Defensive Shield). But Gaza is better armed and the operation will cost hundreds of soldiers` lives.
3. Agreeing to a cease fire which will include the West Bank as well (see post #95). This is something the terror groups asked for time and again. Israel refused, because it was so easy to pick up terrorists in the West Bank. The people of Sderot probably think their lives are more important.
It is amazing to me that the obvious choice was not made long ago. Go for a cease fire until anti-rocket system is developed; so obvious and so simple. This is just an indication of the total and complete ineptitude of the present government. God save us from such leadership. |
