| A local firm just fired some folks for hanging nooses at work. In an age of `code word" racism, the noose has replaced the traditional flaming cross. It seems the Swastika is still in fashion though. The conservatives in America are on one of our periodic xenophobia binges. From time to time the ultimate `mongrel" nation composed of the children of immigrants gets it in mind to hate newcomers - anyone `different` in fact. The predecessors hated French in the Adams administration, Irish for a century, Jews, Blacks, Italians. . . the list is long and glorious. This too will pass. Right now the right feels put upon, the Constitution won`t let them ram Southern Baptism down the throat of Americans, Mexicans talk funny, and the Zionist Occupied Government continues to piss of skin heads by serving Israel. This latest period of Nativism, the manifestation of the dark side of America that was once the playground of the "Know Nothings," cannot pass too soon for me. |
