please read the article!! haaretz quoted someone who runs a non-governmental organization who said that about 30% of people contacting him are from the haredi community. no statistics at all were cited. as an MD who actually studied epidemiology, i can say that anyone who would give a patient a medication based on such statistics should have his pants sued off! statistics require either complete reporting or random sampling of individuals niether of which were performed here. furthermore, statistics require actually counting cases. That too was not performed here (this vague 30% notion is subject to significant recall bias and is not much better than simple opinion). |
