| Only backward states like Saudi Arabia can keep that up, and only for a limited amount of time. A state that aspires to some Western, developed, values yet keeps on with the pretense of religious purity will run into the contradictions sooner rather than later--Israel for example. Israel will either change or it will fade away into some sleepy Mid-Eastern backwater. |
