| It`s disgusting to hear this attitude - that the haredim are the "only truly moral group left on the planet". Such arrogance, combined with a tendency to blame other groups (non-haredim) for weakness in a struggle inherent in humanity, make it hard to sympathise with the apologists. Sexual abuse is a problem all over the world, affecting communities of many different flavours. Repressed sexuality and a "don`t involve the outsider" mentality just make the problem worse - I don`t think the complaints show a rise in the problem but rather an increased willingness to do something about it. Best wishes to those victims with the courage to end the cycle of abuse, in whatever community they live. |
