Moshe Arens: Intercepting Qassam rockets
Talkback
Title:Arens: The instinct and the excuses
Name:Tosefta
City: TveriaState:
"And what if the time required for the development and achievement of operational status has been underestimated by the minister of defense, possibly by a wide margin?
And the cost. It will certainly exceed by far the minister`s current estimates.. the money allocated to the Qassam interceptor program will mean smaller allocations to other military and civilian needs, and may very well not be a wise allocation of Israel`s resources." - Arens

To those who don`t remember, Arens voted against the 1979 peace treaty with Egypt, and is and has been against every other progress towards peace. When this man get his hands on something, he wouldn`t let go. An anal character par excellence.

Now, why should the West Bank be any different? But what about peace? Well, peace entails giving up something, so no way. But it isn`t nice to speak against peace, so you have to find reasonable excuses. Arens knows that once an anti-rocket defense is found, Israel may feel safe enough to leave the West Bank, and so he rushes to slow down the process. (Don`t worry, when the time comes Arens will have plenty more excuses.) Indeed, Arens wants Israel not to rely on the system to be developed and therefore stop the present peace talks. His excuses in the paragraph cited above two:
1. Development may take far longer.
2. Cost is too high and there are more urgent needs, so spend little and make sure development takes far longer.

Time for Arens to get off his potty chair. We have had enough of his senseless excuses.
