| Anyone familiar with the events will understand that Stalin had no intent to exterminate any people. He wished to force them to do as he wished. When, after WW II, the term "genocide" was invented, it was invented to describe a particular horror. That being an attempt to expunge from existence certain `genes`, certain biological characteristics, as defined by the perverse ideology of the Nazis. Now, any time anyone, or for that matter no one in particular, engages in any form of warfare against anyone else, it is suddenly "genocide." How liberals cheapen what Hitler did by making ANY aggression "genocide." What America is doing in Iraq and Afghanistan is NOT genocide. What Israel is doing to the Palestinians is NOT genocide. Ruthless oppression is not genocide, it is just ruthless oppression. That is what Stalin did to the Kulaks and Ukranians. He ruthlessly oppressed economic groups which opposed him. To cheapen the charge of genocide, is to cheapen the meaning. |
