| I`m with Phillipe on this.The commies were trying to reconstruct a society with collectivization as a primary objective. Many people died and perhaps the Ukrainians suffered more than others. But , importantly , their objective was not to kill Ukrainians but to establish "socialist" agriculture. The Ukies on the other hand extrapolated their Chmielnicki antisemitism into the assumption that Jews were intent on killing them , as tit for tat , that communism and judaism were coincident. So they were party to aiding Hitler and to this day antisemitism is a viable force in the Ukraine. |
