| Just yesterday I played host to three friends who are in Israel, once again, to participate in the Alyn Ride, to raise funds for this hospital. Beginning in Tiveria, they will make their way on the first day up to Tsfat. It is split into two main groupings, the shleppers and the Challenge Ride, which is alot more strenuous. It is good to see that my adoptd country is becoming aware of modes of transportation other than the car and the bus. This hopefully will come in handy for commuters, and be a boon to this growing niche of tourists, who would rather see the country up close from astride a bike, rather than sit aloof on the touring bus. it is good for our health, for our environment, good for tourism and the nature of our society. I await it`s opening. Hopefully after it is complete, those in charge of managing the route will be entrepeneurial and efficient, and not Hafif. thank you to the visionaries who came up with the plan and worked to see it come to fruit. |
