Amos Harel, Barak Ravid, and Avi Issacharoff, Haaretz Correspondents and Agencies: PA seeks int'l intervention as Gaza power cuts imminent
Talkback
Title:Arrogance of power
Name:Omar
City: RamallahState:
Since the pullout of Israel from Gaza, it continued to control all the borders, offshore access, and airspace. It even controlled the Rafah border indirectly, i.e. shutting it down at will (and it did so frequently). Israel even controls the issuance of ID cards (i.e. residency permits and travel documents) of Gazans to this day.

My points: 1- If Israel had behaved civily and done its best to facilitate (or just not impede) Gaza`s economic revival instead of making it into a big prison and throwing away the keys, THAT would have greatly alleviated Palestinian anger and despair. But Gaza`s success is clearly against Israel`s interest. 2- Cutting off electricity, and really ensuring that Gazans have nothing left to lose, is a recipe for disaster for Israel. 3- Not only has Israel long ago lost any claim of moral superiority in this conflict, but I fear its behavior is very ominous of an upcoming genocide against Palestinians, probably to the joy of many talkbackers here.
