| What begins with Israel must teach students that her democracy is flawed sinks to the level of democracy or hypocracy? Once the editors are done navel gazing and picking they are invited to compare with other democratic nations AND for good measure a number of non-democratic nations. The editors are then invited to look within and consider their own reactions to the religious right....such as the man who is banned from entering Samaria and be with his family for 3 months of the uear, oh yeah he`s a religious Jew so it doesn`t matter. Every democracy is flawed and only a fool expects otherwise, it`s a country operating and growing under the harshest conditions, amid a sea of those who wish to destroy her, and a 20% population of thse very same people. this flawed democracy doesn`t have the black sheep and has less guns per capita than the "neutral swiss". Just imagine how those moral swiss would act in Israel`s shoes. whew,don`t even try to compare with our neighbors. |
