As the process is defined now it seems to most (except Livni and Rice) that it is doomed to a failure. Most Israelis suspect that if there is agreement there will be a quick process which will result in an unstable Palestinian state. The term "terror state" was coined by Netanyahu.
This is probably justified as there is not likely to be a great deal of Palestinian support for any measures requiring fighting the militias, as they do not turst Israel to do its part.
On the other hand, I believe that there is a definition of peace (borders, Jerusalem, refugees) which can be acceptable to a majority of Palestinians and of Isralis.
However for this majority to act it is necessary to carefully define the process.
