These people are HEALTHY, right? They live in a house with a YARD and these children have a YOUNG granny. The granny could mobilize the children: bring the filthy matresses and blankets out, wash them, bring in water with buckets and give the rooms and kitchen a good scrubb to begin with! A good neighbour may even come with his hammer and screw-driver to fix some broken parts in the house.
Then the yard: clean it! What an excellent vegy-garden with even flowers, the granny with her grand-children could turn into! She could grow some to sell too in the market-place or to neighbours for some income!
The kidsī self-esteem and joy would come forth through contributing and their imagination would come to life and they would feel less sad.
Lastly: OK, the children do not want to go to school: can the granny read or is she illiterate? She could write a home-school-schedule to the kids and read to them, teach them and supervise their learning! |
