Title:Charge them and give them a trial or release them
Name:The End Is Nigh
City: State:
If there is evidence against these 850 people then charge them and give them a proper trial. If there is no evidence, then no country has a right to hold people with no real intention of bringing them to trial.
The maxim `innocent until proven guilty` is a basic standard of legal process that most civilised countries around the world adhere to and I have never been convinced that Israel`s circumstances should exempt them from applying that basic standard.
If there is no evidence against someone then why hold them in the first place. If there is evidence then surely the judiciary are there to decide if that evidence is sufficent to convict.
Either way, there is no justification either morally or logically to hold them without charge and trial- it is simply a barbaric way for a country to behave.
