If esteemed leaders of US Jewry tighten conversions, not only is it against pursuit of happiness, an important American ideology, but also you threaten to put a choke hold on the overall wellbeing of your communities. The Chief Rabbi looks to impose similar conversion restrictions so that Israel will not be seen as `going it alone` in the purposeful hindering of converts as is the current practice.
