The Israeli rabbinical establishment is not of this world; they live in ethereal spheres and have lost touch with reality.

Even though the Israeli Jewish population is growing, the number of Orthodox weddings last year was at a standstill. This is because many Israeli couples live out of wedlock, or make a legal agreement with a lawyer, or hace a civil wedding abroad, or have a Reform or Conservative wedding in Israel with or without a civil wedding abroad.

Little by little, the Orthodox Rabbinate is cuttng off the branch on which it stands. Eventually, I hope, Orthodox Judaism in Israel will go the way of the Samaritans and the Karaites.
