| yes, that is what it will come to. That is going to be the stepping stone to the next logical step: refusal to accept 99% of all potential converts. Communities will follow the custom of the Syrian synagogue in Brooklyn, which I believe still has a plaque on itss wall from yrs ago stating that their community does not accept converts. Part of the reason for this reaction, though not entirely, is the massive influx of Russians into Israel and their questionable status and the efforts by the nnationalist rabbis to perform quickies in order to tilt the demographic balance in favour of the Jews over the Arabs. |
