| To Raymone and Hannah: I agree and don`t agree with your comments. To the extent that Israel should be promoting Jewish immigration to Israel, from any where on this planet, thats good. That is why Israel was created after all. We can show some more sympathy for Russian Jews who lost almost 2m people during WW2., mainly in the Ukraine, aided by local fascists and Jew haters. Why are we so darn picky as to who is encouraged? If Israel allows mixed marriages (Jew and non-Jew) than so be it. That is their priviledge, just as we (US) have our immigration laws AND PROBLEMS. As to absorbing more people, with much less assets, Israel absorbed millions. Where there is a will there is a way. Disapora Jewry certainly can aid. Remember, the Negev is largely empty. Israel is demanding 5m so-called Arab refugees be settled in the W. Bk and Strip., far smaller than Israel itself. And let`s not forget history, Germany and Russia could pounce on it`s Jews at any time...depending on the M.E. situation. |
