To be sure the article doesn`t deal with statistical comparison of Israel with other countries. It deals with the woman trafficking in the country which, as you wish, not a "sham" nor being "more judged more severely than others as usual". Incidentally, it is you who brings in statistics with mostly third-world countries, stating that Israel is better off than them. 1000 a year (2.8 women a day) for a country of 6mln population is a lot. Adding that technically it is so difficult to get into the country, it is startling to say the least. The women travel though the desert by foot + lift on a jeep, on their own risks. And for years this 1000 has been a minimal threshold only to be desired for. Note also that the whole little change was made by some marginal NGO.
