The reason for holding Jerusalem under international soverignty was to ensure that all worshippers of the three major religions had access to Jerusalem. Because of Israel`s control of Jerusalem, Palestinian militants have taken to using it as both a thouraghfare and place in which to cause havoc and death to Israelis.
It`s a shame that a select minority of Palestinian Islamic extremists is causing the vast majority of Palestinians who are seeking entry only to pray to be denied their own religious expression.
One can only hope, optimistically, that there will be a time when this is 100% possible. |
