Talkback
Title:It could be less-faceted but mobilized around the real issue:

The main obstacle in curbing this phenomenon was the corruption and lack of accountability of the Israeli police. At least it was when I learned on the beginnings of the anti-trafficking non-governmental organization which pushed the issue into the daylight. The high officers of Israeli police were among the clientele of the pimps, making the only official tracking and preventive agent into the accomplice of crime which had the most to lose if exposed.

The source of this police involvement is the testimonies of the girls voluntary or not involved into this "industry". Perhaps Haaretz could be a place where such testimonies could help rally the public awareness more than the conditional freedom of testimony in Israeli courts?
