| Iran must realize that its constant defiance of the international community will inexorably lead it down the path of tragedy. Iran has been asked to stop its nuclear weapons program. Iran has been asked to stop its provocations against the United States. Iran has been asked to stop its threats against a member state of the United Nations. Iran has been asked to stop its Holocaust denials. Iran has not learned to follow the path of diplomacy. Iran`s president has declared that the nuclear issue is closed; he has declared that Iran will never recognize the "Zionist regime;" he has declared that the events of nine eleven were not as known by the entire civilized world; Iran`s president referred to those who would bring peace to the Middle East as "arrogant powers." Yet, it is the petty and cruel dictator of a great and ancient people who shows himself to be arrogant at every step. Iran must realize that it has only two choices: follow the path of peace through diplomacy, or risk tragedy. |
