Title:Money for Road Improvement? NO!

Improved roads will help very little. Ultimate responsibility lies with the driver behind the wheel. Never must a driver ignore road conditions. Even if 90 kph is posted, the driver must drive slower if conditions warrant it. Driving on Israeli roads is a game of Russian Roulette. Drivers driving straight through traffic circles, cutting lanes; switch-ing lanes just because they signalled, regardless of traffic; failing to signal lane changes; failing to heed yield signs, but gunning the accelerator into traffic; speeding; driving instructors urging students to merge into traffic, not considering the speed of traffic flow. Drivers and pedestrians--cops, MKs, and everyone else, even Charedim--ignoring the rules of traffic. Aren`t Derech Eretz and Dina Demalchuta Dina taught in yeshivot? It`s our culture first, not the quality of roads, that is to blame! Remove unskilled, arrogant, scofflaw drivers (that`s about 50%) from the road. Cancel licenses! Raise fines!
