What was the motivation for the survey, and why was Israel one of only six nations "questioned" ? To demonstrate Israeli nucelar "trigger happiness"? Israel has for more than 40 years nuclear weapons capabilities and has neither threatened anybody with extinction, nor with nuclear weapons. On the contrary, Israel has always emphasized it won`t be the first to use WMD in a conflict. So what can we learn from the results (of which we kno little, since Haaretz just quoted the Israeli numbers)?
Nothing more than that nations being threatened by annihilation feel safer when they now that they at least have deterrent and retaliative cababilities. For that you don`t need a survey! |
