| Rabbi Greer is totally ignorant of the situation of Amwerican Jewry before he came to the US. Up untilt he end of WWII and perhaps later anti-semitism was acceptable. There were Jew quotas at private universities. Hence the importance of my alma mater CCNY. To the extent that Jews didn`t bring up the issue of the murdr of Jews in europe it was for fear of turning the war into a "jewish" war and being blamed for the casulties. By the time the US entered the war the only thing that could have stopped it was an Allied/ UN victory. (The only people who still believe the myth that a Norden bombsight could put a bomb in pickle barrel from 10,000 feet are those who believe the gaschambers at Auschwitz could have been knocke out in a pin point bombing.) What those semi-assimalated american Jews did do was send all of their sons (who met the physical standards, and they did at a greater precentage then the population at large) as well as some of theri daughters into the fight. |
