| Slavery used to be a thing from the old days, a couple of hundred years ago. In Israel foreign workers are taken advantage of big time, Filipinos, Chinese, and now Thai. They receive peanuts for their hard (often manual) jobs and not much gratitude from their Israeli employers. I have seen it in Israel, Chinese painters, Filipino cooks, nannies, care takers. They are treated like dirt most of the time. Slavery in the 21st century ! just awful. If only Israelis would be less proud and do some hand work themselves. And if only the Israeli government would supply proper care for the elderly, building sufficient old age homes and special care units in hospitals for the disabled. A lot has been accomplished the past 60 years in Israel, but in the field of old age homes and care for the disabled/retarded, there is a lot to learn and to be done still. |
