| Developing a fighter aircraft and integrating modern avionics is not as easy as it looks. The number of nations capable of doing so has dwindled over the last 50 years. Israel pursued that goal for a while, and then eventually gave it up. The F-5A is fifty year old technology. The design team that did it was headed by Lee Begin, who`s last aircraft was the F/A-18. Could Iran be producing an improved F-5? Yes. Is it likely to be a major threat? No. |
