It doesn`t really work like that. There are not really sects, they are more like streams, and people don`t convert from one to the other. They are just born jewish, or convert in a recognised way, and then may choose to follow a particular stream, which may have it`s own rabbi, or a certain way of practising or level of strictness about the way they practise. And there are many more than just 7 streams, although I must add that your number 7, messianic, is not jewish at all it is christian. |
