a hole in the desert. A convoy of missiles passing through Syria from Iran would, it would seem, pass through some kind of coherent supply route, not over a remote sand dune. If Israel had indeed gone to all the trouble to blast a Hizbullah-bound weapons convoy in northeastern Syria, the remains would have been there for all to see.
Where is this hole in the desert, anyway? So far we have seen only the fuel tanks on the Turkish side. Unless Syria shows similar evidence of a strike, one shall have to conclude that Syria, amazingly, is fibbing. I wonder where Amanpour gets her information, given the wall-to-wall Israeli silence, and the fact that the most reputable strategic analysts are still baffled. I hope this CNN story is not a way to force Israel to break the silence and tell all.
