| Royal families can remember smaller insults for 50 generations if they choose to do so. Queen Elizabeth attained the throne just a few years after Israel gained independence. All of the problems encountered by the British mandate in Palestine would be quite contemporary to her, and she doesn`t shy away from sending a message, as many think she did in the case of Dianas death. As for the Brit soldiers, they weren`t just killed, they were kidnapped and executed by hanging. That is quite unusual. The recent celebration of the bombing of the King David Hotel which was held in Israel was considered an insult by some to the British ambassador. I don`t recall the details, but the article was carried in Haaretz. Anyhoo, I think this issue is insignificant but amusing. No reason to raise voices or feelings. |
