Simon, I agree entirely, but you sound like a thug, and thuggery never achieved anything long term, education into societal norms, not karate and machismo is the answer. Henk - perfect explanation of Israeli society "...[he] insulted my ego..." and that is what it is all about here, ego and humiliation. For an Israeli to be overtaken on the road, disagreed with, corrected over anything, admit to not knowing, be seen to be non-dominant in any situation is a humiliation to them, it is as if they have been castrated and emasculated. In my opinion it is this hairy chested machismo crap that causes the idiocy we see daily, the road deaths, the lack of respect for women, the pushing to the front of queues, the refusal to move to aside when approaching someone in the same line on the pavement, etc. And this can only be addressed in the home. |
