This study is a wonderful metaphor for how Israeli society is developing and the value choices that parents make and that future adults are learning and making. Is hitting back not only justified but to be encouraged? Should the hitting back be a `measured response` or of such force as to immediately close the door on any possible hitting back to the being hit back? Should an eye for an eye be a higher value than turning swords into plowshares? It all gets to the point of what kind of society we are, the society we feel the need to be and the future society we want to be.
This study and many of the reactions here make pretty clear the choices we are apparently making.
