| My family fought in the Homefront (Norwegian Underground) against the Nazis. Before WW2, Norway decided (stupidly) to become a "neutral" "pacifist" and dismantled most of its military. Nazi Germans attacked Norway by surprise. The king barely escaped that night in a boat to Scotland. There were only a small number of Jews in Norway. (Even today only about 100 families.) Within a few days, the Nazi Germans captured about 50% of Jewish families and sent them to Auschwitz. Norwegians had no idea what was going on. As soon as they realized Nazis were targeting Jews, Norwegians rescued the remaining Jewish families and smuggled them into Sweden. About 50% of Norways Jews survived. Of those sent to Auschwitz, only one Jew survived. Quisling`s traitorous Nazi Party transmitted the intel on the whereabouts of Norwegian government officials and of Jewish families, to Nazi Germany. We put this traitor to death and would do so a thousand times if possible. |
