TO ALL THOSE 500 CONVERTS WAITING TO RECEIVE YOUR IMMIGRATION PAPERS.
As a convert living in Israel for 40 years, take it from me that it`s much easier to love Israel from outside while living abroad than living here. Be happy where you are now. Accept it as fate or something that was meant to happen - like for being late and thus avoiding a fatal accident on the highway - for not having your papers yet since many of you 500 "WILL BE SORRY" , like sometimes one says jokingly to a couple to be newly wed. Only THIS IS NO JOKE, many of you will probably always feel more like a stranger here and not a "REAL JEW".
The only consolation though is that once you get fed up with being so called "Jewish", you can always be baptised again somewhere and forget about everything that was. ONCE A JEW, ALWAYS A JEW only applies to the born and bred Jews. |
