| Having spent time with and travelled the same paths as the post-army Israelis, (India, Thailand, etc) I would have to agree in a large part with Isaac. I watched my Israeli friends interact with the locals without any apparent sense of respect for different customs or even language, bulldozing their way through these strangers` own streets as if they were still carrying their weapon. I am generalizing, of course...even in Tel Aviv these groups have a name: arssim; I met Israeli individuals of stunning inner beauty and depth, usually alone, who, because of their humility were able to share an experience with the locals, rather than TAKE a holiday (by force as it were). In fact I fell in love with one. |
