in denial.We are at present talking about Indian jews in israel.Several years ago,shortly after independence some Indian jews left for israel and after a while returned to India because they found it was not the land of milk &honey they had expected.
Interestingly,these Indian jews use an Indianism,the `motherland`,when referring to israel.They are welcome to go to israel and welcome to return if they want.What the heck ! We`ve been on the subcontinent for more than 5,000 years and we never left.Invaders have come & gone.We are still there.By the way,the jews at the diaspora were welcomed in india.In the province of Kerala there is even a synagogue in the old quarter at Cochin(a port town) where the synagogue share a compound with a hindu temple.That`s who we are and who we will be.And that`s why an Islamic cleric wrote a song last year for muslim children:"India, our country,the best country in the world!"
