| There was a time when Jews could escape Iran through Turkey. Israel is alone and has few friends. We have to be concerned with live people and here and now . Let the diplomats find a way to keep Israel out of this mess. The ADL couldn`t help itself because American Jews often think more like Americans than like Jews. That is because we are really Americans. Only very committed Jews put Israel`s survival ahead of party politics. ADL faced a financial revolt in Boston by people whose morality didn`t harm their personal interests. That it hurts Israel doesn`t matter as much as being on the moral side of an issue. Thus the Boston phhilantrophists are right but also wrong. |
