Judaism and Zionism need to be taught by teachers who respect the power of thinking of the students and provide opportunities for questioning. This is not relativism, this is objectivity. Any historical event, including the Israel War of Independence, can be seen from more than one point of view. Ultimately the student will learn how to extract the truth from the various versions.

Schools should not teach doctrines, but provide information and teach students how to process it. Doctrines belong to the synagogue or to the sectarian school. Some people would want to convert the Israeli public school system into a religious one. Why don`t the dedicated Zionist young girls teach in the religious schools? |
