| Virtually all Kassams fired at Israel are delivered to the off-road launch sites by car or truck. By declaring Northeast Gaza fields a "No Drive Zone", and destroying on sight with helicopter missiles all motor vehicles that leave paved roads in NE Gaza, it becomes difficult for hamas to launch Kassams. They are sitting ducks if they try to launch from the paved roads, and the launch angles to Sderot are wrong unless they drive launchers to positions in the fields. There is no right under international law or the "Geneva Convention" to drive motor vehicles. Courts everywhere have held driving to be a privilege, not a right. Israel, by contrast, has an unlimited right to self defense under UN Article 51. So issue warnings (like US "No Fly Zone" over Iraq or Bosnia) and then destroy any motor vehicle caught operating on dirt field roads opposite Sderot. Perfectly legal. |
