What a terrible accusation against a devoted, intelligent minister! Since when did Jews leaning to left become antisemites, antizionists and hating the State of Israel? I am a left winger too, and all my life I studied and taught Judaism, but not what the poster intend to be the only version. So are many of my colleagues.
It is unfortunately the religious right that is destroying Israel, by being narrow minded, self-centered, and totally oblivious of other peoples` rights and opinions.
To suggest that brainwashed teenagers, untrained in the art of education, should be entrusted to teach Judaism is at the best a bitter joke. What would that "Judaism" be? Some shovinistic ideas about entitlement to the land by invoking God, promoting values that defy universal morality, making illegal settlements the center of their ideology?
What "the Jew" does not realize is that the so called "leftists" (a derogatory term including centrists)) are still the majority in Israel and will remain such. |
