To think that the current PA government can take Gaza by force is fantasy. Such can only be done peacefully through accomodation and negotiation. This would require a willingness to deal with the rejectionists like the PIJ and anybody else still wanting conflict.

With that proviso, a surface corridor between Gaza and the WB should only be a stop gap measure. Olmert`s chunnel idea is the best proposal so far.

It can be hermetically sealed from Israel and thereby provide security for both Israelis and Palestinians. I can provide rail and highway traffic and include capacities for pipelines for gas from Gaza and desal water. The Palestinians can license the technology from France and the UK and provide the labor themselves - an instant jobs program to help jump start the PA`s economy.

The other details disclosed above are too sketchy to comment on.
