I was watching a football match in an Irish pub in Berlin, the Czech Republic versus Germany and as Germany started to loose a group of German skinheads started to chant `Jude Jude`. At first I heard it but didn`t, I mean I couldn`t believe what I was hearing and then it got worse `Juden nach Auschwitz`
I was with some Irish mates and we went to the management and said throw them out but they refused so we called the Police, they showed up but were disinterested and refused to take action.
The scariest thing about the whole experience was that apart from us Irish there was only one other person who took a stand, a German lady journalist who was totally shocked. I mean the whole full pub continued watching the bloody match as if nothing had happened.
I`m not Jewish but I was so angry and upset that I was shaking. |
