Y`all need to read a little closer and get over all your hatred.
1) Israel DOES take care of sick and injured Palestinians. In this case, an Israeli Army doctor and Israeli paramedic were working on him, and an Israeli ambulance showed up to take him to an Israeli hospital.
2) The problem appears to have been that the folks at the checkpoint believed the patient himself (not the ambulance, which was Israeli) was not authorized to go to Israel and therefore wouldn`t let him through. This had nothing to do with Palestinians using ambulances to smuggle explosives, since the ambulance was an Israeli ambulance with an Israeli crew. It was some sort of procedural breakdown.
This is a tragic story that could have been a beautiful story of the Pals and Israelis working together to save an accident victim`s life. Here`s to hoping they figure out what went wrong so that it doesn`t happen again. |
